隨著年紀越來越大，皮膚膠原蛋白逐漸流逝，臉上的細紋也慢慢浮現，令人感到惱怒，尤其額頭的抬頭紋不但明顯還難以遮掩，是許多人惱怒的來源，杜絕皺紋一定要趁年輕，減少過度誇張的表情，一旦出現動態抬頭紋，可能就需要借肉毒桿菌素放鬆肌肉，當固定紋路出現，就比較難挽救。

書田診所皮膚科主治醫師徐嘉琪表示，額頭肌肉走向是垂直的，出力收縮時，表層皮膚會成波浪狀，大多數在肌肉放鬆時，皮膚會回復平整，年紀漸長膠原蛋白流逝，紋路會越來越明顯，大約二十至三十歲，就會出現明顯的動態紋路，大多只要施打肉毒桿菌素，放鬆緊繃的肌肉，紋路就不會出現。
到了四十至五十歲，皮膚彈性已不如以往，皮膚因長期受到肌肉拉扯，很容易導致疲乏出現永久紋路，此時除放鬆肌肉外，還可能需要使用玻尿酸，填補皮膚流失的膠原蛋白，大致可以維持六個月至一年，無法長效維持，最好的方法還是延緩細紋出現，放鬆肌肉減少誇張表情，平時做好皮膚保養，減少膠原蛋白流失。
徐嘉琪提醒民眾，很多人都習慣性皺眉，久而久之會形成眉心間直條紋路，令人看起來總是在生氣；避免方式與抬頭紋差不多，減少皺眉次數，避免誇張表情，出現小紋路時可藉由肉毒桿菌與玻尿酸改善。
馬偕紀念醫院整形外科美容中心主任董光義提醒，注射肉毒桿菌素的時候，最好離眼眶骨上緣有一點距離，不要太靠近眼眶骨，否則很可能影響提眼瞼肌功能，造成眼瞼、眼皮下垂等副作用。
董光義主任分析，額頭出現皺紋多半是老化造成，平常習慣皺眉或視力不好，習慣瞇著眼睛看東西，長時間下來，很容易就會出限額頭皺紋。有些人眼皮較低，或有眼皮下垂困擾，看東西時，就得加上額頭力量，額頭一再用力，自然容易產生皺紋。
治療額頭皺紋可考慮使用肉毒桿菌素，讓前額肌肉不要一直收縮，不過劑量一定要控制好，過量或施打位置不正確，可能讓眼睛睜不開。
有的人額頭皮膚出現鬆弛，導致皺紋更嚴重，此時就要考慮進行額頭拉皮手術，讓額頭肌膚更為緊實；若是眼皮、眼瞼下垂引起額頭用力，就要先解決眼皮、眼瞼下垂問題，才是根本之道。
額頭皺紋較輕微時，可以使用電波拉皮、飛梭雷射等方式刺激膠原蛋白重新生長，這樣就能稍微改善皺紋問題。
董光益主任提醒，治療額頭皺紋前，一定要先經過醫師專業評估，才能選擇最適合的療程。平常盡量不要皺眉，有視力問題也要盡早矯正，不要常做誇張臉部表情，以延緩額頭皺紋出現。
